    TAB Version 65

I am returning to this project after some time, and today post a minor update using stable release thinbasic 1.8.9.0:

    23 Feb 2015 (Release 65)
    =========
*FIX Character movement error causing a crash in particular instance.
*FIX Positioning of .wmv files corrected in graphic mode.

I am happy to report that TAB works OK in thinbasic beta 1.9.15.0

Here is latest TAB YouTube playlist:

    Hello,

I had a report today that the TAB program was not working (program would not load or start) under Windows 7...
I do not have that platform to check the validity of this.
Could someone please check and let me know if the program downloads, unzips and runs under Windows 7 & or above please.
    Many thanks,
    catventure.

    PS.
My brother tried on Windows 8.1 and program DID run fine without further problems - but only after setting user rights control to "Run as Administrator" and "unblock" activated on the .exe files; so possibly is just a security issue, eg. Windows firewall being careful about downloaded files?
I am grateful if you let me know if encountering similar issue and any feedback on this.

get it running on Win 8.1. as is - from the folder, no admin-rights nor any steps in advance required therefor.

If i enlarge the window to see something on that image which probably shows the scene, the graphics does not get enlarged.
I think there are missing some Forum-sections as beta-testing and support

    Hi catventure,

It downloads and runs OK for me under 64-bit Windows 7 Ultimate Sp1 under both Admin and Guest accounts with the only exception that it requires additional confirmation for launching under the both accounts due to the "Unknown Publisher" alert.

It downloads and runs OK for me also under 32-bit Win XP Pro Sp3 with all the latest updates via the WEPOS hack but crashes on program exit (both .exes).

Thanks Guys for your helpful reports.

Seems there is a bit of strange behaviour going on with the .exe crashes when the programs are exited/closed.
Maybe this would be fixed with next official thinbasic release...

@ReneMiner - The graphic boxes are not meant to enlarge/resize in the graphic game - well not yet anyway! TAB is primarily a TEXT adventure maker; I'd like to do that and in time hope to achieve it, but due to certain issues I haven't been able to code that except for the opening splash graphic intro window - just at the moment.

The user reported he still cannot run the latest program (newly posted yesterday). Says there are no error messages, prompts or info. The programs just do not run without any explanation. Cursor timer hourglass appears briefly when exe file is clicked, but programs do not run or start at all - nothing. period. Strange.

***It just occurred to me that I started using the "uses GDIp"... If user does not have lib that could be a reason? I will ask him.

    Any other reports are welcomed.

Works perfectly on my WIN 32b Vista.

    catventure.

PS. Uploaded program again to include the check for GDI+ lib else stop program with error message.

    Hi Phil,

the GDIp module should work without issue on Windows XP and newer, so Windows 7 should not have problem with this.

What I would recommend is to focus on (so called) antivirus software - it often uses some kind of heuristics and I suspect the process of debundling could be considered suspicious and when interrupted by AV software, could cause issues.

I keep making sure ThinBASIC has no issues with NOD (very helpful support guys), and AVG (easier, as I work in this company now).

I will follow your suggestion and ask what AV is being used...
