Guys I was wondering if writing for one gamepad will be like writing for all gamepads. Here is my default gamepad setup and how it read out in Mike's TBDI test script. Let me know if yours is the same or not, I hope they are all the same so it is write once and forget about it

Hi,
I have just basic Wingman Precision, which has just D-pad, that 4 buttons cross on left part and buttons 5 and 6 as those big ones on top.
Bye,

Ok, I will try to write a gamepad input and assign routine and try to apply it to the game. I might be back asking for help, i am not sure I will be able to do this, but I will try and report back with any progress or lack of as soon as I can and see if the way I am doing it seems ok.

I can't think of any way to take a users selection for which device he will use and which button, or joystick as they do in other games.
One of you guys more skilled is going to have to take that one on. It is a very interesting challenge though when you try to think about it. I am going to see if I can find any articles on how it is done.

I will look into actionmapping that is supported by directinput. So maybe I can present you an automatic way.
Mike, thanks, Petr gave me some ideas too, but your function sounds like the way to go. I will read up on it as not familiar with it in the meantime. Thanks for looking into it and seeing if can be part if tbdi.
On one of my other things i couldn't do, Petr came to the rescue, we now have the camera behind the shuttle and it follows nicely the shuttle when flying. I added a tageting reticle which helps you shoot accurately the asteroids. I will try to add a few more things and then put the code up, then you can add stuff that you would like and then we can give it to Petr to clean up and make uniform the topdown way and then he can add next functionalities.
