Hi Petr,

i need some tutorials over your new Sprite System.
type some simple demos, how to use it.
what is the difference between animatesprites and sprites?
animatesprites do it automatically? and sprites works by me?
here's a demo written by myself, good for a tut with the new sprites system.
use [right key] /[ left key] and it will scrolls.
your sprite system reminds me at basic4gl.
i wrote approximately twenty games therewith a long time ago.

thank you
Peter

I must have missed the announcement of new module for sprites, was an announcement made? I did see it in the help files, but thought it was not out yet?

Hi Kent,

the sprites a the part I spend now over 4 months on it for the TBGL module. It is allready shipped with the beta but not officially released. Look inside the help file and you will see that I created allmost 100 commands to deal with sprites. I also created a lot of samples and a new game that shows off some of the power the new commands deliver. When it will be officially announced, I don't know. Petr's time is 100% consumed by private stuff which absolutely valid and has to be respected.

Hi Peter,

I will see that I can come up something else besides what will be shipped with the module so you can play with the beta a little bit better.

Aaah I see you posted a RAR file. Can't open it. And in times where XP and Vista ship with build in support for ZIP files, I refuse to install something else. Anyway, thanks for showing your script to the others.

Mike, try 7zip. It is free and handles many formats. Zip file format as is, is not the smallest compressed file size. Rar and 7zip formats are actually quite a bit smaller. http://www.7-zip.org/
for the small program it is, it handles many formats, a great program. I think you will really like it.

About the new module thanks for the work. I am sure it will be very well done as your other modules. I just wanted to make sure I didn't miss the release announcement. I will look through the beta releases more thoroughly from now on. More once I am able to take the new sprite baby for a ride around the block.

Hi Peter,

Mike put enormous effort to sprites, and the result is worth it.

I brake the release of the big demo game, because there is one part not related to sprites I would like to have done more elegantly. As Mike said, I am little pressed by time.

But I think that other sprite samples could start appearing in TB betas, if Mike agrees, as they do not depend on other "to be developed" stuff so heavily, and you can learn a lot from it.

The demo looks interesting, I like the side scrolling :)
