Hi folks,
one of the first 3D packages that got me into modeling was TrueSpace. Today I got an email that MS is pulling the plug
due to financial problems MS is encountering these days. If you want to download TrueSpace, do it fast as the website and so the files
will be vanishing soon.

Oh Gee, what a terrible thing Mike. I too started with Truespace and always loved the passion of Mr. Ormandy. I am sure Caligari will go on in one way or another. Thanks for the heads up!

That is bad news,
I downloaded the free version and wanted to learn it more during summer :(.
I wonder if stopping the project means the original developers can still work on it on their own or not.

I don't think so. If there was a chance about it, I think Roman O. would have mentioned it. TS is his child.
It must feel terrible for him after decades of taking care of it.

Hi guys,
Caligari released version 7.61 of all its stuff. TS, TruePlay, the SDK, videos. Roman Ormandy said that the website will be up at least for another 5 months.
So there is some time to grab the stuff.
I wonder what he will work on next? I hope he comes out with another 3D application. The world needs an innovator like him that is for sure.

hi michael, kent, petr... all...

thanks for info michael... :)
I have got the email too, I have started with truespace 2 and the price was very hot some formerly years ;)
it's a pity that ms caught truespace... something has gone wrong with roman ormandy to sell it... don't know the reason for it but I don't like such things... to sell your child and your soul ;) better to burn out than to fade away...
I have downloaded ts 7.6 a lot of weeks before , but today I don't like anymore this little icon handling and feeling for popup menus or registers... the ts 3d application was very powerful, won prizes, but after ms has it under the thumb the development stopped... I am sad about this chapter...
best regards, Lionheart

I started with TS 5 and this icon gui was that allways attracted me. Maybe that is why I love Hexagon. Very iconized gui there too.
