I have been using this web application, well you do download a small program, but it works so well it is amazing. It allows you to ask for and to give help and to remote desktop control. It is fast, you need broadband, but it works incredible and so much easier than Remote Desktop via Windows or asking for assistance via email file.

Basically the person wanting help clicks on the share tab, a reference number is given. You give that number, in my case I use Skype and on my side I just click on the Access tab and enter the sharer's reference number and in a couple of seconds I see their desktop and we can both run and work on programs together, or I can do maintenance.

If you need something like this, I think you will really like this.

There is also a feature which I have not used nor anyone I know, that is you can make money helping people or you can pay people to help you. It is in there if you need that sort of thing too.

At work I use a product called Teamviewer same sort of ideas they even habe a web based version so no client download required and at about 1000 euros its paid for its self already (free for personal use). The manager function is useful because it logs time and you can make notes, it can be run on a sql server so shared client lists are possible.
