John,
asking to click on the adds is against the licenses and rules of Google. Google can cancel this service with Eros and hold back the money he allready made with it. I'm sure that is not what you want.
Please remove that note.

John,
donations received for thinBasic project will be used solely to pay thinBasic dedicated server web hosting costs but on the other side I would in any case continue to pay the bills even if I would not receive any kind of donations. Passion comes first.
I'm enough lucky to have a well payed real job that pays all the bills plus more.
Of course donations are all greatly appreciated and I personally thanks every single one by a personal mail (I just missed to thanks the last received but I will do next this post).
Donations also give me the feeling of what others think about the project. If someone spend a piece of time (time is one of the most precious things if you think) and some money to say thanks, well I feel I can be on the right track.
That said, donations are donations only if they are spontaneous. I do not have to ask for them. Every one must be free to make a donation because he/she feels it is the right thing to do and not because moved by some factors external to the project.
On Google Ads, please do not click on them if you do not think it is important for you. Clicking just to give the project some cent is a fraudulent way to stole money to people or companies that are honestly investing their money. Clicking because asked is also contrary to Google agreement I signed when I joined their service so they can ask me to give back money.
To finalize my thoughts: just behave honestly and do what you think is the right thing to do.
