at first when i have read it i think it is a science fiction, but in fact it is an old project from princeton university, the site is here:

it is about distributing electronic random numbers generators (RNG) in most countries in the world, then they beleive that the awareness or the Consciousness of the people will make some discripancies in the randomness of the generated numbers, by may be a quantum effect??, and the results are continuously sent to the center in princeton.
they said that at every major accident such as the death of princess diana have an effect on the randomness generated by RNG, ie the randomness is the magic mirror which reflects the status of the people.
some people said that if a huge crowds of people focus there attention to something like diana death they all will be watching T.V and so consuming more electricity wich will have an effect on the RNG machines,
may be or may be not,
in the site there are a google map displaying the positions of RNG in most many countries in the world.
