Wow, that was brave with all the bells and whistles (mods) you have on the thinBASIC forum. Glad to see you got through it without any major issues.

I have to say that I always cross my fingers when I do those updates.
Like every SMF admin know(and have experience over thir skin), I know how dangerous it can be to install new mods in SMF.
As a personal rule, when I choose what mods to install I always choose mods from developers that have created more than one mod and have keep updated their mods with continuous updates. I usually avoid to install mods from people not having demonstrated their professional attitude. And it is quite easy to smell them: just check mod support in SMF community, check how mod author reply to users asking for bug fix or improvements. You can get a precise picture of who is behind the mod.
But ... hey, please to meet you John ;)

This version produces much faster pages than before. Big difference even on my slow Linux machine.

Must be an unpredicted side effect :D
I've also updated Server OS to the latest MS patches available and restarted the server.
Usually a server restart adjust many things.

Having a current code and DB backup ready to restore if the damn thing doesn't come back up is also good insurance.
You have done an outstanding job with the site and thinBASIC. :eusaclap:

Were you workin on the site earlier because I had the same problem again, and after about 15 minutes I can back and it was OK again.
All other internet sites were working ok. Only been like that since the update.

No, I didn't make any further changes.
I know my provider is working to improve networking side. They already have big net band ( http://webfarm.aruba.it/CARATTERISTICHE_eng.asp ) but you know, it is never enough.
Just thinBasic web site during Jan2009 consumed 12.29 GB. Plus community forum consumed 6.10 GB during the same month. My provider has thousands of servers so you can imagine.
Ciao
