I have "Hide email address" checked in "Account Related Settings"
but it shows on my forum message entries. Do I need to change
another setting somewhere?

Your email is hidden to all users except to admins (me and Roberto)
Attached what other users see about your profile.

As you can see your email is hidden to users, but you can see your email, only you and (again) admins

I am guessing that letting a member see that person's email
somehow makes it easier to run the forum, but thanks for the
pictures of what others see. I am already feeling better!

I was confused by this before too but its a feature of the forum software. You allways see your own email adress.
