Some month ago I saw a documentary about what could happen if Yellowstone Super Vulcano would erupted and I was astonished.
I know, it is not a nice starting for the new year but I'm always fascinated by nature power.

With the right engineering skills we could stabilise these volcanic hotspots drawing off huge amounts of geothermal energy in a controlled way. (and collect rock. to create new land.).
The lava could also be used to create lightweight building blocks with a high insulation factor.
