I'm just curious about one thing.

Does anyone still use .bat files for anything?

Thanks
Sandy

Roberto, why did you switch to using .cmd? Is it better than using .bat?

Thanks

If you want to know the difference between .cmd files & .bat files, take a look at the third paragraph on this Wikipedia page, Sandy.

Mainly I switched to .cmd because I like stay tuned with the current OS technology.
As Matthew pointed out there are differences between .cmd and .bat, but so far everything I've done with .cmd I could do it with .bat.

I recently found the following free CMD.EXE replacement (TCCLE 9.02) on the web at --

http://www.filecluster.com/downloads/TCC-LE.html

I seems to be very fast and powerful with a number of enhancements not found in Microsoft's CMD.EXE.

I've used Windows NT Command Scripts (.cmd) exclusively, and have very little experience of anything else!
