View Full Version : All in one place
Guys, I was thinking it would be nice to have all scripts and programs in one place. It would be a good on going reference too.
Right now, even stuff I know that exists, I can't seem to find. I don't think they need to be moved from where they are as not to mess up the forum.
But perhaps have an easy to find link, to a page of links that listed all working example programs throughout the site.
I don't know how smf database works, but perhaps it could generate a sort of posts with threads, if the post ends with rar, zip or script extention it could auto generate a sorted list out to a table on the page. This way the list would be automatically up todate.

You are right. I searched and there was an old mod I touched a bit to get compatible.
http://community.thinbasic.com/index.php?action=mediacenter
No advanced functionalities but seems working fine.
Better than nothing.
The link above won't let me access the linked page Eros, just wanted to let you know.

I cannot access it too :(,
maybe it is currently set up as admins only?
The idea is nice, although up to some level I presume it will be working similarly to current scripts.thinbasic.com?
Thanks,
Petr

Now it should be visible. I forgot to apply user authorizations. Sorry
Media Center is for forum attachments. Mainly it checks all forum posts and organize/list just those having attached files.
I will work on it more in next days. Currently I just installed as is.
I have to remove scripts.thinbasic.com web site. Too old.
He he he he, its working, neat!
It by default goes to the script tab which is empty at the moment, so if anyone goes and see nothing... look to the right and click on one of the choices for other media.
Like archives, video etc.
This is going to be cool for looking for things, it will save me lots of time I know that. Thanks Eros!

Hope now is visible to all users. PLEASE LET ME KNOW.
I installed/re-installed some times the new package in order to show ".tbasic" and ".tbasicc" scripts but no success. New functionality works only with files having file extensions of 3 or 4 chars len.
I will try to fix PHP code this evening. Should be not difficult.
Ciao

Hi Eros,
works for me - I like it.
Very simple, but I do not need more. Just will use more descriptive filenames :)

Work fine for me.
Like Petr said I will use better filenames from now on.
It is working great.
I got another idea!!
Where we attach a file, it would be neat to have another edit box, to type in a short description of the file attached.
This would show up in the list of files in the media center.
If we could sort by date, username, filename, and this new edit box (let's call it "description" for now) it would be great.
Examples:
sort request one:
sort priority:
1 2 3
username: asc date: desc filename: asc
sort request two:
sort priority:
1 2 3
date: desc username: asc filename: asc
Well you get the idea :)
Thanks again Eros!!
One more idea....
In the attachment area, maybe a checkbox to indicate the version of attachment is ranked as latest version.
This way code owners can go back and update this box to all their files.
This would help eliminate downloading older versions of code and only getting latest versions.

Wait, wait, wait ... :D
I'm not in the condition to create or personalize so deeply mods of others.
I just installed a new SMF package and changed some PHP code in order to manage dynamic attachments extensions (I've posted my modifications in Media Center support forum at http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=130931.msg1559954#msg1559954 )
Nothing more, nothing less.
I will try to understand it better in order to add new features but I cannot do much more. Sorry
