View Full Version : thinAir Color Scheme Sharing

I thought I would start this thread so that we could share our color schemes and basic settings for thinAir.

Probably a good idea to take a screenshot of a window (ALT+Print SCR).
Then open up MSPaint and CTRL+V to paste it in.
You will need to crop the image to fit the window, but usually alt+printscr takes just the active window.
Once you paste, select the selection tool and just select around the window area you want to actually share.
Copy, then create a new MSPaint and past it into there.
File Save As nameofsheme.png file.

You will also want to attach your thinAirdat.ini
Located in your thinAir sub directory.

Probably a good idea to save a copy of your scheme that you like as
thinAirdat.ini.BackUp

I will upload this scheme with any changes I make over time to this post, so this post will contain just this scheme updated.

Probably a good idea for other sheme sharers to do the same in their posts here in this topic.

Hi kryton9,

This screen capture ute might help. It's the last freeware version before it went shareware:

Also check out some free image programs

Good idea Kent,

but I won't post here anything as I use default setup :D
I must admit your scheme possibly saves eyes better, thanks to black background.

Kent, Abraxas,

what is your motivation to go for black background :)?
Is it eye saving, similarity to DOS editors, or something else?

Petr, I change it quite a lot, that is why I decided to save my files so it will be easier.

The first one I posted, I made a mistake in that I used my setup from the Asus and I have thinBasic instsalled on a memory card mounted in a folder on drive c.

From now on I will just install to c:\thinbasic and all should be fine.

I noticed something... courier new when you select Bold, it doesn't seem to keep it in thinAir. I thought maybe it is something with courier new font, but in notepad courier new in bold works... any ideas on how I can get bold to stay?

Petr, I use a black background because of latenight and long programming sessions, you get a lot less pain from your eyes when you have been looking at a screen for long periods (sometimes maybe 6-8 hours)

Abraxas,

I will try it too then. In powerbasic I have chosen gray background, as white gave me pain during long sessions.
But in thinAir, I think the gridlines somehow reduce this effect.

Will try now blackness for one month and report any health issues later :D

Kent, I think thinAir takes only font size and face from the font dialog.
I tried black for background, but after resart it was white again. So I use RGB(0,1,0), which is almost black.

Kent, like Petr said, thinAIR doesn't take fontstyle into account. I wish it would be but so far not.

This is a lighter scheme.
