Hi.

Since thinbasic is an interpreted language, has the subject of Linux support been considered?

yes and it works with wine

see this thread http://community.thinbasic.com/index.php?topic=1557.0

Abraxas.

I was meaning a Linux interpreter that runs thinbasic scripts. I have tried thinbasic under wine and it ran but for one thing the richtext control didn't work properly.

Incidentally, (and I should have said before) I am not pushing for this - it's just a question.

Dave,

a Linux version of thinBasic Core engine is impossible for the moment because the compiler we use to develop thinBasic (Power Basic (http://www.powerbasic.com)) does not have a *nix version. So we can be present where Power Basic is present.

Not all modules are developed with Power Basic, some are developed in C and FreeBasic. So we are experimenting a bit on different development areas but just experimenting. Also consider we are still working on the Core engine to make thinBasic faster and more stable. Going into a different OS, even if very interesting, is something that would require too resouces for our team. We prefer to stay where we can assure continuity in development and user support.
