Read about this official project at: http://windows.kde.org/
Eros, what does this mean?
I thought KDE was framework that worked with Xwindows. Is this a port of that to run ontop of windows or alongside windows?
I have been reading on the link you posted, but as you can tell confused.
I did find more info at the KDE site, will this have any effect on what we can do in the future with thinBasic?

Well, I will let you know.
I'm downloading prerequisites files/libs/packets. So far over 400Mb. Not sure if all are really needed to just execute KDE applications. Maybe many are only for developers.
I did more reading and it seems it will allow you to run KDE Applications in windows, it is not the desktop environment and access to the applications.
I wonder if Kdevelop will run and if you compile a c++ program, will it run on windows and on linux?
Good luck with your experiments Eros, keep us informed if you will please!

OK, I've installed KDE for Windows in a vmWare virtual machine with XP as hosted OS.
Using kdewin-installer-gui-0.8.5.exe application I've installed prerequisites. Do not know precisely which one are need as minimum but I suppose that for just executing a KDE native application you need to download all prerequisites unde KDE group.
Below a picture of some K applications running simultaneously under XP as native applications.
Some applications have problems. I didn't spent too much looking at problems in details but it seems that KDE for Windows project team is making a great job.
Execution speed is ... native. Even faster than many Windows applications.
I will download all development tools and see what it comes out in my lettle spare time.
Ciao
Eros
