My online playing buddy, Ray, was able to get an order for the new nVidia 8800 GT card clocked at 700mhz with 512MB Video Ram. It came with Company of Heroes.

I am watching him play on his 27" tv/monitor via yahoo messenger webcam. All I can say is Company of Heroes is awesome. You play as you would starcraft or command and conquer, but you can zoom in to ground view and the graphics and action is mind blowingly superb. Even when viewing play through a webcam.

He also ran some benchmarks. The new card is amazing:

Previous setup and scores Current
2 6800 nvidia cards in SLI mode 1 8800gt nvidia in no sli

3DMark 3 11664 33886
" 5 5116 12085
" 6 2384 6374

There is a big difference in price of these cards, it is all related to the speed of the gpu.
There is a $100 difference between the base card and the overclocked by the manufacturer cards like his ASUS. The ASUS came with a mammoth fan on the video card compared to what I have seen in the photos for other cards.

Now if they can just get these cards in stock.

Hi Kent,

those results are very ineresting to me.
8800 series looked incredible on paper, very nice to see in reality it is almost 3x faster than two NV4x based cards in SLI.

Company Of Heroes is very nice game, I managed to run it on my GeForce 6150 LE ( no SLI, onboard ;D ) in low settings and it still looked very nice. Especially the animation detail is nice.

Did your friend ordered card sooner than you ?

Thanks,
Petr
