I know that some countries use 24-hour time (couldn't remember what this is called) and I was wondering.....

In the countries where 24-hour time is used, do they have 24-hour analog clocks? I've been looking at different clock programs on the web but all of them seem to use 12-hour time. If there were say a screen saver that showed a 24-hour analog clock, would anyone use it?

What do you think.
Thanks
Sandy

I typed into Google, '24 hour clock' and the attached image came up.

I'm sure a Screen Saver which showed a clock like the one pictured would be of some use to someone.

We use 24 hours but our analog clocks are the same. Sure there are some stylish watches that have the display like Matthew posted but public analog clocks and the ones you can normally buy have the 12 hour scale.

Matthew, Did you happen to notice if this image is under a copyright?

Thanks

Hmm, I didn't check if the image was copyrighted. :(

You can look for yourself here (http://www.ccrane.com/science/atomic-clocks/24-hour-wall-clock.aspx).

I found a larger image of the clock which I've attached.

I can't tell whether it is copyrighted or not so I'll just use the picture as a guide line and design my own clock face. I'm trying to make a desktop 24 hour analog clock for my computer.

Thanks

Sandy,

as a start, you can use the following script that shape the window to a bitmap.
I've used the one matthew posted but you can make your own.

That's nice,

I am looking forward to final script. I haven't seen 24 clock in real life, but it is interesting.

Sandy,

a little modification of the previous example with a digital clock inside dialog shape.
Also added a dialog timer and put comments to all the steps so you can see why things are happening.

Left Click mouse is used to move the window
Right Click mouse is used to close the window
Double click left mouse is used to minimize the window but not all events are taken because left click is used for moving

Hope this can be a start for better script.

Ciao
Eros

Eros,

in second sample the region is calculated little bit bad.
See image. First example works ok.

Thanks,
Petr

Fixed.
I added by mistake style %WS_DLGFRAME to dialog style.

The site from which this image came bears a copyright. Therefore you cannot use this image if you honor the (c) on their page. Asking if you may use the image is a better way  ;)

There has been no one who refused the use after asking, some want their name mentioned.

Marcel,

you are absolutely right. I was too much moved from the script side.

I've removed all previous attachments containing the 24 clock image and posted here a simple bitmap image I have created. Hope it it not copyrighted the idea of a 24 hours clock, but I suspect it is.

Anyhow feel free to ask to the (c) holder the possibility to use previous posted image.

Thanks again
Eros

After giving it a lot of thought I've decided that my best course of action is to simply design my own clock face. That way I won't have to worry about copyright. The trouble is I've never done anything like this so I imagine it will take some time and work. I think if I keep at it I'll get it done.

I downloaded the zip file and will get to look at it later today. Thanks for the file. I appreciate it and for all the replies.

Thanks
Sandy
