While looking through the folders on my computer using windows explorer I found a file with the extension .com. It said it was a windows nt command script. A search hasn't turned up much information and, now, I'd like to ask if this is something anyone uses?

Is it something safe to use?

Thanks
Sandy

Sandy,

.COM files are executables. As for all other executables, it is not safe to run them unless you know what they are and what they do.

If you have a good AntiVirus and a Personal Firewall active in your system (all updated of course), than maybe you can "risk" to run executables you do not know what they do. Otherwise, better to check on internet: just use Google and search for the full file name. You should find some (many) info.

Ciao
