Guys, I just saw at 3dBuzz, they are having another content contest. The details are here.
http://www.3dbuzz.com/vbforum/showthread.php?t=147171

More than going for the prize, we have a chance to show thinBasic, tbgl and tbdi in action
and to many thousands of people.

If you guys read this and think it is a good idea. We can spend a couple of days and plan out an idea.
I think the project should be something really cool and visual to show the power of thinBasic.
As you already know they have a c++ course on opengl, they are offering free Delphi video tutorials that will eventually lead to directx game creation and soon they are starting a class on C# and XNA, which I might take. I am not sure about how much time I will have.

But I think when users see how easy thinbasic is to code something cool in. It can get lots of new users.
The contest ends next weekend. So there is very little time. But that is good. Let me know what you guys think.

One week time for a project and then producing the 30 min vid, I don't think it is possible.

Hi,

this contest seems interesting, although just one week to make it... I am not sure if it is enough.
On other side I can see how you guys are good at making videos, so ... :)

I don't like the minimal size being hardset to 30 minutes, I think it is possible to make interesting presentation in 10 - 15 minutes. Then the attention goes down.

Bye,
Petr

My position is that I would like to introduce thinBasic in a soft way. At this stage I would prefer people really interested in thinBasic participating in forum rather than too many "try it ... wow nice tool or not for me ... and than disappeared". I'm sure you have seen this happening many times in software world.
You guy are the person I like because I feel passion in your participation here. I say this because I'm conscious there is still a lot of work to be done in many areas to consider thinBasic a professional development tool. And I want to move in that direction even if thinBasic will be free.

Of course I would like to have thousands of users here connected every day but a lot of users means a lot of requests and a lot of support. At this time I'm not ready to follow thinBasic on a 24*7 basis. But at the same time I saw someone here helping other users giving answers to little or big problems in a professional and positive way. This means that there is a chance we build a real community around thinBasic both for experienced programmers and people just starting programming. So a soft introduction, a step by step path, some important milestone along the road is what I would prefer.

Anyhow, everyone here is free to do what he/she prefer and I will be always happy about any action done to support thinBasic project. So feel free on this aspect.

Just my current idea that I can change if there will be good reasons to do ;)

Ciao
Eros

I will easily with the group's decision. I am so glad you guys are so level headed and can bring me back down to earth when I get excited.

Ken, I like a lot you exuberance :D and your continuous ideas, really. But as thinBasic developer I have the duty to try to keep my eyes on our target.
My main target is to keep thinBasic rock stable as possible and at the same time add more power.

Of course my targets can be different from yours so, please, continue with you pure fantasy and ideas. I will follow them with great pleasure. People like me are nothing without people like you ;)

Thanks a lot
Eros

Thanks Eros in many many ways.

You are right about while under development to keep it a tight knit community so you are not hammered by thousands of questions when it is used by thousands on a regular basis.

When you are ready to do this full time, it won't be a problem showing off the power and ease of thinBasic and we can do many cool and probably by then have many cool videos about things that can be done!!
