have you tried SketchUp ?
If yes, could you please export model to OBJ ( SketchUp supports it ) and send it to my mail ?
I'd like to make sure new version of thinEdge OBJ importer works ok.

Sorry but only the Pro version is able to export into OBJ file format.

I played with sketchup the free version and it was neat. DarkBasic guys are writing support for the sketchup format, so I will look for it too. It would be neat to support as a lot easier to learn than blender and so many models available already. I will look into that when i get back later today too.

Found this, it seems that you can use google sketchup free and import into blender. I have yet to try it, but I definitly will as sketchup is neat in many many ways. IN addition it says we can import google earth files, that would be interesting for terrains, I might try that too sooner :)
