Interesting,
when I first looked at the videos, it seemed quite easy to be done using thinBASIC/TBGL in 10 minutes ...
... but then I read this:
... analyzes them for similarities, and displays them in a reconstructed 3-Dimensional space...
... If all the work of placing photos is done automatically, it had to be quite hard work ;D
The visualisation itself seems to be quite "easy one" comparing to the analysing.
I'm little bit afraid about hardware requirements, because as photos are really not power-of-two textures, it must require more advanced 3D APIs, as quite new OpenGL/Direct3D.
Non-power-of-two ( any dimension ) textures are fixed part of the OpenGL 2.0 for example, which is sadly not bundled with each 3D card everybody has :)
Bye,
Petr

I know that if you just would like to create something similar ... you would be able !

:) not sure if today :)
I found this on the internet:

Paul Debevec seems to be graphics god, I wonder if Microsoft just licensed the technology from him ...
