View Full Version : Move Lines
I'd like to suggest that you incorporate hotkeys to move the current line up or down one position per keystroke. I use this all the time in my own programming (IBasic, using UltraEdit). Would love to have it as I learn thinBasic.
It's much easier than cut and paste.

Hi mrainey,
thank you, this is a good suggestion.
Which hotkeys you use now?
Regards,
Roberto
Roberto,
I use Ctrl-U for up and Ctrl-D for down. I know you just assigned Ctrl-D to duplicate line, so it would have to be something else. I can learn to use whatever you come up with. Thank you for considering the suggestion.

Hi Michael,
We are working on ThinAir for adding the hotkeys to move the current line up or down one position per keystroke.
We choose to use for this purpose the CTRL+UP ARROW and CTRL+DOWN ARROW hotkeys.
We are interested to know what you think if instead only move the current line you can move a selection of more lines (where no selection = Only current line).
Thank you very much and best regards,
Roberto
Hi Roberto,
Moving selected lines with a keystroke while retaining the option of only moving the current line (unselected) sounds like a very nice improvement. So nice, in fact, that I'll suggest it to the UltraEdit developer if you don't mind.

Hi Michael,
hotkeys to move the current line (or selected lines) up or down one position per keystroke was added to ThinAIR.
You'll find them in the next ThinBASIC preview.
Again, thank you very much for the suggestion.
Best regards,
Roberto
