Hi,

A recent article about Open source projects and the funding for the developers on github, patreon, says that

More than 50% of projects are red: they cannot sustain their maintainers above the poverty line. 31% of the projects are orange, consisting of developers willing to work for a salary that would be considered unacceptable in our industry. 12% are green, and only 3% are blue.

TB is in github and free ...

may I ask, what colour is TB? Is TB red, orange, green, blue?

thinBASIC is NOT open source but free software. Free also for commercial use.

Petr Schreiber and I have some projects and an organization on GitHub:
https://github.com/search?q=thinbasic
https://github.com/ThinBASIC

Some thinBasic modules are open source mainly for teaching how to develop a thinBasic module.
TBGL module from Petr Schreiber (OpenGL module for thinBasic) is open source: https://github.com/ThinBASIC/thinBasic_TBGL

Hi alberto,

thinBASIC was not originally meant as open source project, but as years passed, it made more and more sense to share more and more parts.

I was afraid to open source TBGL modules for years, because the code is not always beautiful. But it was a good decision - it helped other community members, such as notably DirectuX, to point to bad parts and I could work on making them better.

As Eros says, the main thinBasic engine is not money, but friendship, passion and curiosity :)
