Thanks for reporting.
I've been informed few hours ago by "Google Search Console Team Team" that they found some "Social engineering" content in our forum and that's why they are alerting users.
Problem is that they do not tell me what page is causing the problem. They just say http://www.thinbasic.com/community/
I'm trying to find the reason.
I suppose something that has been posted recently, maybe FBSL references
I will check, but it will require some time for Google to re-check
grrrrrr :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
Eros
You must not have paid your monthly protection money to get google NOT to flag your site.
ErosOlmi
25-09-2017, 20:50
Yeah, maybe. But before paying I need to know I have to pay something, they didn't tell me :)
Anyway, I've removed 5 pages recently posted where there were external sharing links.
I've resubmitted our web site for checking but they say it can require up to 72 hours.
Will see.
Ciao

Thank you Eros. I also filled out the form that warning led to, that it was a legit site.

... maybe FBSL references ...
Oh really? :D
ErosOlmi
25-09-2017, 22:54
Well, not really FBSL itself, sorry.
In some posts FBSL was referenced through a publish file share site.
Maybe that sites were considered unsafe.
Problem is that Google doesn't say why this site is considered unsafe or what is the specific page that contains something unsafe.
It just say the generic link of the forum is unsafe.
Must be something in the ether, as Oxygen's forums are down.

I've also removed Googles Ads because Chrome said: we have blocked this site because it show intrusive ads.
Maybe Google is finding itself "intrusive"?
There was a time many years ago, when one forum I visited had added google adwords and it would cause Chrome to crash anytime I visited the forum. Adwords crashing Chrome back then was why I started using an adblocker.
Perhaps to prevent future issues, for questionable links, the poster could code them:
http://www.googleisawesome.com
That may get by the bots. No idea what the above url goes to, so don't visit it.

The notice mentioned downloading software. It may think you are tricking visitors into downloading thinBasic? Or perhaps some controversial youtube links I posted in the ShoutBox are considered not relevant to a programming forum, and dangerously subversive!
ErosOlmi
25-09-2017, 23:43
That's the problem: you do not know where to look at
Anyway, Charles you forum seems down with the following error:
Table './O2_Forum/smf_sessions' is marked as crashed and should be repaired

Hi Eros,
I saw that all of John's forums were down a few hours ago. I don't know what the sessions table does exactly but I was unable to access its records and emtying it has cleared the problem. Sorry for any inconvenience. Can't pin the blame on Google :)
After a long nap, it is still giving me that lovely screen. A shame you can't whitelist sites in Firefox.
after the red alert and after clicking several confirmations that i am not a robot ( street signs exam) i have reported that thinbasic site is safe.
google needs to repair itself. but you have done the correct precautions Eros, since google does not say anything why it is behaves like that exactly, and what is the ip of the persons who have reported that this site is unsafe, is it just any one even a small kid can talk anything and they believe him !!!!
it is may be they are getting mad , i read yesterday that there is a new virus demands victims to send their nude pics instead of Bitcoin. the virus prohibit the user from login on his computer.

Thanks to all.
So far we have to wait until Google next scan and see if we pass the exam or not.
ErosOlmi
26-09-2017, 08:00
OK, Google did a new scan but nothing.
This time they reported some pages where (based on their rules that no one know) the problem is.
One is a post from primo where he linked openlibrary, org. I un-approved the thread.
The other one is an old thread that sincerely didn't had any external link, anyway I un-approved it as well..
Now I've requested a new scan.
Now going to work to have some rest ;)
seems "G" don't like my description about how to get pages from OL ebks using FF browser even the description is too fuzzy . this is a complete dictation of the web. on this line we expect they will scan our bodies, our selves, through an electronic chip transplanted inside our bodies every 6 hours and if we pass the exam they will give us a digital certificate to be able to buy and sell and even to renew the passport. dark future.
I just had to deal with that form again, really blasted Google in it and can't repeat what I said as I am sure the language used would violate forum rules.
Google has long forgotten "DO NO EVIL". I have used Bing for years because of Google's skewed results with paid placement for listings in search results. Bing just works and gives me what I am searching for. I long ago ditched Chrome and as soon as I can afford some web hosting of my own, I will be getting my own email server back up and running and I will ditch Gmail for good. They have destroyed Youtube and put many self-employed people out of work with their extreme censorship. There is nothing good or remotely redeeming about Google nowadays.
Telling somebody what they can or can't have on their own site? Especially when there is nothing remotely illegal on it? Google's Gestapo tactics have to be stopped, before they completely destroy the Internet.

G is even hilarious.
I've submitted the site for re-check after having removed some posts and their reply is:
A review for this site was processed recently. Please allow several hours before requesting another one.

@Brice:
... A shame you can't whitelist sites in Firefox.
No, you can't do that selectively site by site yet you can lift off Google's red alerts altogether. Goto your Firefox' Tools->Options->Security tab and uncheck the "Block dangerous and deceptive content" box.
@Eros:
We had a couple similar problems with Google in the past too and it used to take them up to two weeks to remove their false positives. So we may have to be real patient. It make take that long in this particular case as well though I hope sincerely it won't.

Thanks Mike.
I will patiently but constantly push the re-check link hoping they will give me few details on what to work.
That's the problem: they do not give you much info to work on.
I already checked all plug-ins of this forum, all php sources to check if some changed recently, all re-directions, recent changes in db tables but nothing I can get.
There must be some url in few pages that let Google think this site is a bad site with bad people.
Anyway ... :drink:

:drink: to you too Eros,
And don't forget to Ctrl+F5 (clear your internet caches) each time you try to access the offending red page. This ensures you will see the original page immediately after they've lifted off the alert. :)
No warning screens for me for the majority of Wednesday. :yahoo:

I'm resubmitting site for verification every few hours.
Verification continue to fail due to 2 pages considered harmful.
Problem is that those 2 pages have been physically deleted 2 days ago.
Also I found a spammer blocked user having a profile info with a bad link. So I removed it.
I will continue.
It is back for me and stressing me out. Really feel bad for Eros as he is one of the nicest guys in the PB community.
Us all seeing red, made me think of this old song.

Review successful for http://www.thinbasic[.]com/
To: Webmaster of http://www.thinbasic[.]com/,
Google has received and processed your security review request. Google systems indicate that http://www.thinbasic[.]com/ no longer contains links to harmful sites or downloads. The warnings visible to users are being removed from your site. This may take a few hours to happen.

(I guess FBSL has been rehabilitated? ;) )
Yes of course.
My fault: it was not FBSL itself.
I mentioned it because exactly when red alert started we were posting links to some share site where to find FBSL and I thought that links were not legal for Google.
You know ... 1+1= ... 3 in this case.
Sorry
Woohoo!!! Glad that is over.
FBSL rocks Mike. Any closer to getting things back up and running? My offer does and will stand, so give me a PM if you need anything from me.
Eros said: because exactly when red alert started we were posting links to some share site where to find FBSL and I thought that links were not legal for Google.
i think this happened when i have posted the FBSL_RC2 to mediafire, after that Kuron said he can't download the file and when i have checked the file in mediafire it was marked with a BUG and can't be downloaded by other people, my scenario is that mediafire have posted to google the forum site address which have the link to that file, so it may be the fault of mediafire who started all this chaos, in virustotal site they have a mark 13 to 59 for the file RC2 ie 59 not infected and 13 infected, mediafire consider this high . after that Google consider even the O...L.....org link as harmful. it is the first time i scare from write something or some links !!!!!
Google has replaced their "Do No Evil" motto with "All Your Base Are Belong To Us".

I'm not really sure all that was the only reason.
Maybe it was a sum of situations.
I think Google apply some algo where every "bad" thing it find has a score.
At the end the sum of the scores determine if to mark red a web site or not.
I can say that I also found another problem and after removing that problem Google test was ok.
A spammer that I "softly" removed and blocked had a link in his profile to a gambling site.
I didn't see it at first because that link was not visible unless you was making mouse over.
When I discovered (using a scanner that listed all links linking to external sites) I removed it.
I thought I'd add something to this topic. I usually access the site through the Tapatalk App but for the past few weeks haven't been able to do so. So I tried to access the site using the Firefox Focus browser but couldn't. Apparently both apps seem to think that the forum should be using a https connection rather than http. I'm currently posting this using the K-Meleon browser on my laptop.

I'm writing this post from Firefox 55.0.3 and seems ok.
Regarding Tapatalk I removed few weeks ago because it was the reason why there was a forum redirection.
I had installed not the latest version of Tapatalk and its code was buggy.
I will recover Tapatalk asap.

Have applied a certificate to thinbasic [dot] biz host, the host where I publish beta versions.
So from now on it will be https
I've changed thinBasic beta 1.10.4 post changing the link in first post post of the thread
Let me know if it creates some problems.
I'm checking how to do the same with thinbasic [dot] com but quite complex to switch due to many customization I've done in physical server.
Maybe I will move all. Checking all the needed steps.

My first access to the forum and can't see how to start a new post etc so only avenue was to reply to an existing thread - someone will point me in the correct direction.
Just installed thinBasic and run the "Hello World" code and it is fine.
However when I try to "Bundle script: create Exe ..." my virus checker (Trend Micro MaximumSecurity) intercepts the output and removes the file.
Any clues ? I am assuming it is a false positive but don't want to continue just in case.
Threat: TROJ_GEN.R00XC0OG717
Source: Virus
Affected Files: C:\Users\Greg\AppData\Local\Temp\{4…\ThinBasic_Bundle_UI1.exe
Response: Removed
Detected By: Real Time Scan
(Just as annoying, Trend Micro removes intalled .exe files from Hotbasic that I also am looking at using - it considers them to have the HEU_AEGISCS986 threat !)

Inside each Forum you should see a big blue button on top and bottom of the list which states "post new thread"
try the latest thinbasic 1.10.04 and the TrendMicro will say the bundle is clean. i have uploaded the bundled version of cbCalculator.tbasic to www.virustotal.com and 5 say it is infected while 65 say it is clean including the TrendMicro and TrendMicro-housCall and all famous antivirus tools

Ciao Greg,
regarding virus, I too have Trend Micro Office Scan Corporate Edition at office and get same alert few days ago.
I'm waiting my IT will submit file at Trend for false positive.
TROJ_GEN.R00XC0OG717 is a generic virus identification mainly driven by the fact that ThinBasic_Bundle estract some dll and Exe in user temp directory and than create executable.
You didn't say what thinBasic version you have used, this can help me to understand better and try to find a solution.
I will release in few days a new thinBasic version. Sometimes AV scanning is resolved just because the new version changed something.
Thanks for reporting.
Ciao
Eros
Hi,
I uninstalled thinBasic_1.9.16.17 and downloaded and installed the latest 1.10.4.0 but get the same behaviour from Trend Micro Maximum Security v11.1 when compiling the Hello World code:
Threat: TROJ_GEN.R00XC0OG717
Source: Virus
Affected Files: C:\Users\Greg\AppData\Local\Temp\{5E8D3BC8-A88F-45…\ThinBasic_Bundle_UI1.exe
Response: Removed

Thanks for the "how to start a new thread". I entered from the link to an existing thread and the only option was to Reply to Thread rather than entering a forum where Post new Thread can be seen.

For an unknown reason, I have had a nasty time trying to get to the forums for a while now. Posted the message I get on Charles's forums, but seems I am the only one with the issue. Working today.
