Ciao,

I live in north of Italy, Milan. This area (usually) is not interested by strong earthquakes.
Actually I'm in Gran Canaria Islands till Monday the 29th.

In the center of Italy all houses are very ancient houses, hundred of years old.
Cities in that area are like entering in Medieval age, so beautiful places but very old.
Quite impossible to change the situation and secure houses, hundreds of little villages.

Almost all Italy territory is subject to earthquakes every day.

Japan is in a similar situation but their old houses were built with wood, while in Italy old houses were built with stones and concrete.
Wood is a much better material for earthquakes.
