Hello Charles,
I am a bit skeptical about this, but I am firmly convinced that other advanced civilizations exist, in fact, we are probably primitive compared to them.
I don't subscribe to the multiverse theory but rather that there are in fact many universes interconnected like leaves on a tree, and the other advanced civilizations have long ago mastered faster than light travel.
btw, here's a video of triangular shaped UFO http://youtu.be/n-GfAP2yecA

Hi Jack,
I am inclined to agree with the comments below that Youtube, but the flying black triangles are well witnessed and considered to be secret US-military technology:

A model six hundred feet across?!
Terrifying!

Hi guys,
I don't want to ruin the party, but this is just clearly light interaction inside badly designed lens :)
This is why normal people use lens hood when close to intensive light sources (like Sun, in this case).

I was actually referring to Charles' link to the article on TR-3B. I don't think this:
http://www.darkgovernment.com/BlkTriangle.jpeg
has anything to do with low-quality lenses.
BTW there's one stunning phrase which isn't however elaborated on anywhere else in the article (emphasis is mine):
Sandia and Livermore laboratories developed the reverse engineered MFD technology.
It means "THEY are here!" in plain English to me. Hey Area 51 guys, can you comment on this here? I know there are some such people among the TB community. ;)
Further, 9 Machs is actually 3.5 kilometers per second, achieved almost instantaneously in any direction with the crew still staying alive (10G maximum for very short-term acceleration overloads at an average of 80 kilos of normal human weight, or 100G if the human's weight is reduced to only 8 kilos by the 89% efficiency of the MFD engine). I guess they should be working on improving the efficiency to at least 95%-97% to bring the virtual weight of 1 kilo down to some 50 or 30 grams, in which case they will be getting close to the Earth surface escape velocity - over 7 km per second - at terrific accelerations still bearable for the on-board crew. That is, of course, if the efficiency-to-velocity dependence is linear, which may actually be not so both ways.
Aren't they not flying to the Moon any more simply because they are after, say, Proxima Centauri or Sirius? Do you imagine how much of anything/anybody you can squeeze into the space of roughly 5 soccer fields in size? And this is still a model! What if they build it on the orbit where the size can be easily increased 10-fold?
:o
P.S. And yes, I am a romanticist at heart and I have always been one. :)

You and Charles should get a blog going. Very interesting comment and informative as well.
