The digital version of 53,000-word book, including images and a JavaScript program, was encoded into DNA through a technique developed by a team of researchers from Johns Hopkins and Harvard universities. The project indicates that DNA could be used in creating data storage devices. "A device the size of your thumb could store as much information as the whole Internet," said George Church, the project's senior researcher.
