hello eros and development team. what about "thinbasic" development? do you are thinking to share your knowledge or give administrator knowledge to some other people here at forum to push in regularly /continously periods new issues for thinbasic? What are the reasons beside of full stressy work arounds for you to stop entirely development of thinbasic? here's very calm since three, four month. If I can give some ideas I would to share knowledge and give co-authors rights to go on with development of thinbasic / thinair. I can imagine it's a big task and perhaps only you have completely overview about code and all modules, but it's a challenge to give new impulses for this great website with all content stuff. nice week, take a breath and think about it. I try to understand why it's so a calm breathe of sea here.

bye, largo

Hi Largo,

Who told you I "stop entirely development of thinbasic"?

Yes, I'm under high working pressure at work (maybe I will publish the reason and some videos of why this is happening), but I never stopped thinBasic development and under the curtains I continuously develop thinBasic with new feature and bug fix.

What I'm not doing at the moment is publishing those new features as new release.

Attached to this post the list of features already developed but still to document and fully test before releasing (page 2 of the PDF).
Add to this the fact I'm also working on a visual designer (http://www.thinbasic.com/community/showthread.php?11765-thinBasic-Visual-Designer-Code-Generator) able to produce working thinBasic code on the fly: http://www.thinbasic.com/community/showthread.php?11765-thinBasic-Visual-Designer-Code-Generator
I'm not aware of any other stopped project improving so much.

In any case I'm aware of what you are saying: from outside it looks too calm.
But I guarantee you that this is not the situation and some time in the next weeks I will show you all ;)

Ciao
Eros

that's good to hear :) thank you for reply. I don't know where some user has placed (other programming websites, before I was going in holidays) some unserious sentences about thinbasic it could be nearly dead because of no traffic at this website.

good luck for creaing your new code generator. seems to be a very interesting tool. I wanted to use a free and "open" (module based) basic language for my hobby work at uni or at home. that was the reason I have choosed thinbasic.

addendum: my tipp: for new user it would be good to see some simple code snippets or short example how to use thinbasic: "console, ui, tbgl" showing examples day by day to show that's all ok here ;) after my opinion that little idea could help.

bye largo

It's the same story every time for everything. People speculate situations the do not know. I would be curious to know if people saing that have ever written a single line of thinBasic code.

Some of the new module will be distributes as PowerBasic source code, so you will be able to get the code and create new modules. I also think to distribute Visual Editor as source code.

:(
thinBasic comes with more than 400 examples from very simple to quite complex. I do not know any other programming language having in the original setup so many examples.

hello eros, yes of course, that's right and "bravourös" :) but I have meant another thing to give more code example by active users I was missing last months. that's not your job (primarly) I know but to give more attractivity for users it's often better to see what's going on with thinbasic (code snippets, ui examples, module examples and so on..) and the great power of this programming language. nevertheless I am missing these new code examples to learn continously with your programming language. that's my personal opinion.

largo,

you are right. In past months I searched for a web tool or vBulletin module able to create a dedicated area where to place just script examples.
I created the Application forum at http://www.thinbasic.com/community/forumdisplay.php?381-thinBasic-Applications-Forum where everyone (you did it !) could create and publish interesting scripts but it seems it doesn't interested too much or it was not the right time.

Anyway, something to think for the future.
