To me, Monsanto is an example of a typical corporation.
It has demonstrated again and again, that it will do anything to make money.
During the Vietnam War, it made the "harmless" herbicide, Agent Orange.
How many people died of cancer from it?
Since then, it has made at least Lasso and Roundup (I don't know what else).

I think that Roundup is a powerful herbicide.

Monsanto also sells genetically modified agricultural seeds, which are immune to Roundup.
So, it sells the poison, and the antidote.
In my opinion, Monsanto wants to make it impossible to grow any crops without using Monsanto seed.
Recently, on our radio show, a guy talked about the appearance in the United States of, "super weeds", from the widespread use of Roundup.
These new weeds are almost impossible to kill (they are immune to Roundup).
Monsanto's solution?
It is lobbying to have approved a much more potent poison than Roundup.
Does that seem like a reasonable remedy?
To keep escalating the strength of the poison?
Is the end result of such a cycle, likely to be good for anyone or anything, except Monsanto?
