As you may know, this forum is driven by vBulletin forum software.
vBulletin Team seems oriented to drop support for IE6 and IE7 browser starting from version 4.2 (current latest version is 4.1.10)

thinBasic forum will be upgraded to vBulletin 4.2.0 when it will be available, maybe not immediately because I prefer to wait some days before upgrading a forum software.

I hope this will not create problems to any of you.

Ciao
Eros

The only problem (generally speaking) is we don't have a universal browser.

Is SVN accessible through Chrome in some way? I have not checked other browsers.

What do you mean Charles? SVN is not connected with forum software so the forum changes will not effect SVN server.

Attached latest 4 months of Browser usage in thinBasic web site.
Only very few users are using IE7 or IE6

Hi Eros,

I mean, as a general observation, one browser no longer works with all web sites - We have a situation where some sites require Explorer, whereas other sites will no longer support Explorer fully.

I think that in general web sites must get compatibility with HTML standards.
Browsers should do the same.

Unfortunately Microsoft has stopped maintenance of old browsers and its recent browsers do not work with old OS, even Windows XP.
The problem with IE is that it is not a stand-alone application but it is part of the OS.

Google philosophy with Chrome is the best in my opinion.
Just one browser, just one name, no version in the name, continuously micro updated in background, and working even on old OS.

I use Chrome since its first coming out and I'm very happy.

I have also IE8, IE9, Firefox, Opera, Safari but only for testing purposes (checking if thinBasic web site is working fine with them).

the only reason i use internet explorer for reading (not for browsing) is that the fonts are clearer
(darker, thicker) the attached picture display the same page the same font "Times new roman" for opera and ie, and
encoding: western European (iso)
they appear alike but in ie it is darker, i hope the picture displayed correctly. this why i use ie for reading, while chrome or opera are more suitable for browsing.
