Dear all,
I need to create nice icons for thinBasic and thinBasic files.
Petr has already created the nice icon used for thinAir (see attached image). I like it very much for its simplicity, originality and the clear design that let quickly understand what is about.
I need something very similar (same colors, same style, in all resolutions) for:
main thinBasic program
.tBasic and .tBasicc script files
Current IconSet also attached to this post.
If someone has ideas and would like to share, it will be great.
Thanks a lot
Eros

So far I've created the following Icon Set.

Hi Eros,
thanks a lot for working on the icons, I have two questions:
On which place will the ThinBasic icon appear? Will it become the ThinAIR icon?
I can see slight aliasing issue on the borders of the new logo (jaggies) (please see attached image, displaying both current ThinAIR and new logo side by side in IrfanView). Is the new set designed completely in the IcoFX?

Sorry Petr, by mistake in my previou post I mentioned icon was for thinAir but it is not.
Maybe you was thinking the contrary because I mentioned thinAir instead of thinBasic: sorry (I changed previous post).
thinAir icon is perfect from every point of view: originality, colors, design, quality.
New icon set is for thinBasic application

Yes, I know. I painted it by manual each pixel so I need to adjust it a lot. I'm working on it.
In any case you have got my idea: keeping current thinAir iconset you created as master (it is perfect!) and create some derivative work keeping the same style.

Hi Eros,
thanks a lot for the info.
I tried to do something similar as you did... and hehe, it wasn't easy. The workflow was the same as in ThinAIR example:
use GIMP (http://www.gimp.org/)to design the icon in 256x256
use File/Import image in IcoFX
Icon/Create Windows Icon from Image
I used "Selective Gaussian Blur" in Gimp to produce the "shadow" between the both color areas, updated the thinAir icon to this look too.

One more variation,
I call it "bird of prey" edition because of the symmetric T endings creating picture of spread wings.

Thank you very much Petr.
I personally would prefer to go with the simplicity of your originally thinAir icon for the characters.
So a simple italic "T" close to "B" is preferable because your "bird of pray" would be too ... "stylistic" and difficult to maintain on a long term.

Hi Eros,
thanks for your ideas. Fact is for example the shading in the new look is not observable in other than full resolution...
Which font did you used for the italics T? :)

I tried to use the Arial Black T, and it seems to fit the B.
I attach two simple variations (italics, two letters, antialiased).
