The people will be the last to know, right?

The last thing a government wants to do is to let its own people know what it is planning, yes?

I find Bob Chapman's manner of speaking very relaxing. I guess compared to Alex Jones barky voice it might seem so. I admire the fact that he has never given up the fight and never backed down even at his age.
I just saw a video about a million dollars actually weighing about 2,000 pounds, or yes... a million dollars is a 'ton' of money :)

I've never heard Bob Chapman.

But, I've heard Alex Jones.

I think, "barky", is a good description.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

One penny weighs 2.5 grams.

http://www.usmint.gov/about_the_mint/?action=coin_specifications

One pound equals 453.59237 grams.

http://www.google.com/search?q=how+many+grams+in+a+pound%3F&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a

A million dollars in pennies weighs,

10^6 * 10^2 * 2.5 / 453.59237 = 551,156 pounds.

A penny is 2.5% copper, and 97.5% zinc (from the link above).

Copper is $3.3117 per pound, and zinc is $0.8723 per pound (if I am reading the chart correctly).

http://www.metalprices.com/

(http://www.metalprices.com/)551156 * ( 0.025 * 3.3117 + 0.975 * 0.8723) = $514,386

Shouldn't the metal from one hundred million pennies be worth one million dollars?

I guess not, how much do you think you could get for the paper from 10,000 one hundred dollar bills?

Incidentally, the one hundred dollar bill is now the largest American currency.

I wonder why they discontinued the one thousand dollar bill - too easy to move around large amounts of cash?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, actually, you could probably make money by manufacturing your own pennies.

But, I bet if they caught you, they would put you in federal prison for a long time.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I don't know much about these things, but, I've read enough to be suspicious.

Here is my guess for why they might re-design all of the American currency (make new bills that look completely differently).

There must be lots and lots of American cash all over the world.

If that cash finds it way back into America, inflation will skyrocket.

So, the Treasury can issue new bills, and say to everyone, "You have 30 days to exchange your old bills for new ones.".

Most of the cash from outside the country will then become worthless.

Yes, the American government is honest and trustworthy!
