It's interesting.
As soon as Obama announced that all US troops would be out of Iraq by the end of this year, Netanyahu began threatening Iran with an attack, a coincidence?
(And, remember that, although Obama proudly made the announcement as if it was his intention, he wanted to keep troops there indefinitely. That didn't happen because, Iraq refused to make the remaining troops immune from prosecution for breaking Iraq's laws.)
I think Justin Raimondo (link to article below) is a very smart guy.
I hope he is wrong.
According to him, Israel has no intention of attacking Iran, at least not by itself.
Netanyahu is applying pressure to the United States, to do it for them (Israel).
Of course, should the United States attack, I bet at least Great Britain and Israel will join in. (You see it lots of times in fights, when one guy has another down, initially passive bystanders, want to be part of it, the winning.)
According to Raimondo, Israel will be successful in its campaign to get the US to attack Iran. (Then, immediately oil will go how high? Raimondo says, $200 per barrel.)
Politically, it makes sense to me that the US will do it. Those at the top use war as a distraction from domestic problems. Believe it or not, they take an action (war) which makes the domestic problems much worse, but which they hope will serve as a distraction. (That is how you know when wars have nothing to do with helping the citizens of the aggressor country, such wars are only to benefit those at the top of the pyramid, regardless of the public propaganda.)
(Desperate people trying to hold onto power, often intentionally take actions to make the situation even worse, yes? It seems to be part of human nature. I think they reason that they can maintain control, if they can continually keep those trying to break free from their control, off balance, in a mode of constantly reacting to new external crises.)
If I remember correctly, there are less that 15 million Jewish people in the world, approximately 6 million live in Israel, and, approximately 6 million live in the United States. (<-- Check it.) You wouldn't think that in a country of 300 million (United States), 6 million (2%), could have enough power to force the country into a war (especially since, the country is already involved in two other wars), that will make the vast majority of a miserable population, much more miserable.
We'll see if they can.

No chance! Iran's population is around 80 million. And both the US and EU are broke. The only regime under threat is our global bankers :)

I hope your country (people) will be able to avoid such an option.
World is quite tired of wars in the name of "democracy" and wars in the name of false "civilian protection"
I agree with Charles: if a war has to be done it must be done against speculation and speculators in favor of real concrete economy.

Uri Avnery agrees with you.
(I think, no one should ever put everyone from a particular country/group into the same, "basket". Probably, in most instances, what the country/group does, and what the people want, are opposites.)

Unfortunately most of our government has acted in a treasonous manner violating the Constitution they were sworn to uphold for over a Century now. The Power To Be couldn't take over the world if the United States was left alone with its integrity and Constitutional guidance because we would always be strong and a beacon for the real way to live and not the false logic and economic systems they propose. Now you are considered a nut case in this country if you just stand up for what the Constitution clearly states, that is how screwed up we are.
If Ron Paul wins the next election, that means there was still enough sane silent people left in the United States and there is just the slightest chance things can be straightened out. Otherwise the power to be get their person in and continue the game of left vrs right, republican vrs democrat and they take away more of our rights and destroy the world as we know it to bring their hellish plans to the forefront.

Additionally, most people are too afraid to post anything criticizing the government.
Isn't that terrible, people feel afraid to criticize their own government?
The government is supposed to serve the people, not the reverse.
The monetary system is awful.
The Federal Reserve can print as much money as it wants.
We have zero say.
Actually, it can print us into homelessness.
The other countries are realizing that the dollar is just paper, nothing more.
What will we do when a loaf of bread is $50?
It can inflate us into destitution, and, it is legal, legal theft.
Additionally, the government has gone into huge debt since 9/11.
In my opinion, the vast majority from military and, "security" expenditures.
I wonder, is the "security" to protect the country from terrorists, or, to protect the criminals from the people?
Now, it insists on stopping services to the poor, to pay the debt which the military and "security", have incurred.
(The first time I heard Bush Jr. announce the formation of the Department of Homeland Security, I immediately thought of the Third Reich. I can picture Bush with a little mustache, and Cheney in a black SS uniform.)
To me, this country is becoming a place for only the top 1%. It acquires more and more wealth, and uses a military which spends 19 times what the second country does, to frighten the rest of the world into submission. It cares zero about the other 99%. I think it is exactly like a mafia. But, a mafia which also controls the mass media, so that the people are constantly indoctrinated to believe those at the top care for those below. The people are constantly propagandized, and enticed by stupidity - entertainment, professional sports, celebrities. In this way, "our masters", do all they can to keep the people ignorant of the actual situation. They constantly work so hard to keep the people confused, because, they are desperately afraid of the possibility that a critical mass of the people will see the truth, and revolt.
I see it as a gang of the 1%, backed by its military and police, against its own citizens and the rest of the world.
But, to me, the criminals are fighting a losing battle. The only way I can see them being able to, "keep the lid on", is if they are able to commandeer and censor our modern electronic communications. And, we all know that, behind the scenes, they are trying as hard as they can to do that. If they are unable to prevent people from electronically mass communicating with each other, the people as a whole, will keep becoming more and more aware of the huge injustices. Then, the only option the criminals will have left, is to attempt to impose a police state, to use part of the giant military (and, also to greatly increase the police forces - it is already apparent that the police are becoming indistinguishable from the military - same weapons, uniforms, protective garments, etc.) to control the angry citizens. In that case, the citizens, taxpayers, will be in the "wonderful" situation, of being forced to pay for their own guards.
If OWS continues and grows, one big problem I see for Obama and the corporate media is that, they again and again said how great it was when the people of the Middle East countries publicly protested this year, 2011, during the, "Arab Spring". (Actually, they also said it was good when the people revolted.) So, now, when the exact same kinds of protests happen here, what can they say? Can they say, "That was a different situation."? At some point, the public will begin to laugh at them.
I see it every day. The people who present the news on network television, are profiting from the system as it exists. They will never utter a word of the truth. I think it shows that those with consciences are filtered out before ever getting near those positions. They complacently drone on and on to each other, giving the impression they are convinced the system is primarily fair and stable as it is, at most requiring minute adjustments. (And, I bet they would continue to do that, even up to the final minute before the entire system was scrapped.)

What is the purpose of this, "leak"?
So that when Israel attacks Iran, the US can say, "They didn't tell us, but, now we have to help our best friends."?
http://www.commondreams.org/headline/2011/11/05
And, let's not forget some things.
1)
Israel has nuclear weapons, probably at least 100 - but, it would be the end of the world if Iran acquired even one - does that seem fair?
2)
If Israel does attack Iran, oil will immediately top $200 per barrel - so, in my opinion, Israel would effectively be saying to the whole world,
" 'F' you. ".
3)
Israel is a country of approximately 7 million people - do you think, maybe, possibly, perhaps, it makes too much trouble for its size? Is there another country of comparable population, that makes near as many problems for everyone else?

The Iranians were plotting to kill the Saudi ambassador to the US, in Washington DC? Really?

(http://original.antiwar.com/porter/2011/11/04/debunking-the-iran-terror-plot/)What is the difference between this, and, "weapons of mass destruction"?
We should believe it because Obama is saying it instead of Bush?
I'm starting to think of Obama as Bush-III.
I don't know, maybe Americans are that stupid.
I wonder if the government does this stuff, just to measure how dumb the public is.

It seems exactly the same as it was for Iraq, once the US starts (like a bully, once he picks his target), it doesn't stop.
Amazing, instantly after Obama announces US troops will be gone from Iraq by January 1st, this begins.

And, war with Iran is the last thing the vast majority of Americans and the rest of the world want. Does it matter at all?
And, even if the war doesn't happen, do Obama and the US care if they scare the sh*t out of the whole world - again?
