In this country it seems that many corporations are able to subsist, because so many adults have type-2 diabetes.

I guess here, you could call it the diabetes industry.

And here, the percentage of people that are really fat, keeps increasing.

To me, indicators like the diabetes and obesity epidemics, are signs of a society's dysfunction.

And so what does capitalism offer as remedies?, lap-band, o-band.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adjustable_gastric_band

"If our doctors determine that you qualify, your insurance should pay."

"It's not just lap-band, it's O-band."

The most important thing in the world is always to keep that money coming in, right?

I wouldn't be surprised if in a few years, we begin hearing all kinds of horror stories associated with these devices.

Then, something new will come along, and the people will again be involuntarily bombarded with propaganda, referred to as advertising, promoting another wonder remedy for the prevailing psycho-physical epidemic.

The underlying societal dysfunction is never addressed, because, there's no profit there.

To me, what a sick world we live in, run by the worst imaginable, "people".

To them, we are not more than cattle.

And, at least so far, they seem to be untouchable.

(Additionally, I think that a society's leaders reflect the society's health. Here, are politicians are terrible examples of human beings, so, I think, things are not looking great. I don't think that guys like Hitler, just materialize out of the aether.)

I hope we have hope.
