At least here, in the United States, almost everyone has one of two strong opinions about this topic. Either they believe the official government story, or they don't.
I am in the second category.
I am seldom more than 90% certain about anything. And, in this case, I am 90% certain that the official government story, is bullsh*t.
Interestingly, also at least in this country, anyone who doesn't accept the official government story about anything at all, is labeled by the mainstream, as a, "conspiracy theorist". Here, that label is approximately equivalent to the label, "insane". To me, it is obvious that the larger an organization is, the more its hierarchy lies to and deceives its members. The organization called the United States, has more than 300,000,000 members. Yet, its administration is primarily motivated by the welfare of its people? Who, with even half a brain, would believe that? Additionally, how many times has history demonstrated that governments have convinced their citizens to believe huge lies? Amazingly, and apparently, after a big lie becomes obvious - over time the perpetrator government is able to regain the trust of most of its flock (sheep), to "hypnotize" them into believing that, it was the old, "bad", corrupt government that lied to them before; and that, the government they have now, is the new, honest, and "good" one.
How much of power consists of just the ability to control and filter information? You see it in even the smallest organizations, for instance, families. A cheating spouse maintains his/her power, by concealing the acts. However, a thinking mind should not speculate that a scaled-up version of a family, would most likely not be, pure as freshly fallen snow?
