I've installed a new way of communication in thinBasic community forum: an integrated chat system very similar (in the aspect) to Facebook chat.

It is a commercial product called Cometchat (http://www.cometchat.com/) that has been integrated very easily with vBulletin.

It is always visible in the bottom part of your browser when you are in this forum. Current active users will be visible in the list. Active status is pulled every 4 seconds and every registered can change it.

It can be used for private or public talking. There are also nice features like file exchange (active when you are in private one to one communication).

Anyway, I hope you like it. Use the way you prefer.

Cool thing but I don't see the chat window/area.

Never mind, I think it is that black bar on the bottom, or?

Yes exactly.
You can change theme to a default one that is light gray.

Very much appreciated.

I found just one issue - when clicking the facebook group button, the view is slightly odd (see on attached image, using FF).

I think (not 100% sure) It's because that option is created to connect to Facebook fan pages while thinBasic Facebook is a group page.

I will check with Cometchat support and see.

Yes, confirmed: only Facebooks pages are supported at the moment.

Does comechat manage Facebook groups pages and not only Facebook fan pages?
We have a Facebook Group page at http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=6473307475 but when I use in module "Facebook fan page" it only shows group members but not Group content (it remains empty)

Sorry, CometChat can only use Facebook Fan Page at the moment. We plan to add support groups support in the near future.

Thanks for the investigation,

it is not big issue for the moment, just reported it so we know about it.
