Hi John.

Well, I'm a little bit ... (what to say in order not to use the wrong words) ... positively disoriented about this poll.
In my mind I'm fighting between 2 thoughts and the use of term "us":

you decided to dedicate some of your great passion and capabilities to thinBasic project
you try to understand why people is liking thinBasic and frequent this forum in order to apply somewhere else

I do not need any reply because I'm sure that on a long or medium terms our behaves always talk for us.
In either cases, if you will share your positive feelings, I will be happy to have you around and share the pleasure to be a developer.

Exactly one of the two things I was thinking.

I have no problem about this poll.
The only problem is "transparency" in the "us" term you used.

I explain: I do not want to know what other people are using thinBasic for, how, when, for what. Of course I like to hear from time to time about it but it is not something I need to know in order to go on with thinBasic project.

So when you make such a poll, I would prefer you ask for yourself and not for "us". If people will reply to the poll, of course all of us will benefit from the results but this poll is not something I or others here asked for.

Please take this not as a polemic reply but just a way to show my attitude in this forum and in thinBasic project.

I'm sure there are many uncatalogued reasons why some people are here and not in other places (and the other way round and also here and in many other places at the same time) and most of those reasons are related to personal "feelings" and not technical one. You can have the best product ever but this will not guarantee it will succeed.

Such polls are like to ask "did you like?" after having sex. You can be the best lover but making that question you will destroy all the feeling.

As I'm new here at this forum, I also thought that the initial poster was part of the thinBasic development team because he used the word "us".

But obviously he is not...

I can honestly say that the thought to add a messaage in a program stating "powered by MS visual C++ V6" or anything else has never cross my mind at the end of the day as long as the program does what it should the end user couldnt really give two toss. How about "powered by Coffee and Crisps" thats a better description or better still "Powered by Late nights and sleep deprevation"

Interpreted or compiled? I dont really do anything that needs speed and the syntax for TB is very user friendly but I do tend to write a program in TB then recreate it in PowerBasic not for speed but antivirus reasons.

Why would it bother you what other people think about scriptbasic, praise is nice but as you know you cant please everyone all the time.

John perhaps I would be using scriptbasic if it had been posted on NeHe 3 years ago.
