Lack of interest seems to be a pandemic these days.

Getting folks to participate in worthwhile projects is like pulling teeth. I could retire if I got a nickle for every excuse I've heard why users can't participate or too busy. They always seem to find time to download that FREE software and offering nothing in return. (comments, testing, documentation, ...)

I see other non-BASIC open source project doing well with an active community. I'm wondering if Basic is really dead and I'm talking to ghosts.

I actually signed up for the Beta version of Google Wave but never managed to do much with it. :?

I think they should have made the Beta available to everyone, then maybe more people would have used it.

I found Google Wave great tool,

I am really sorry to see this happening :( Matthew is right I think, I would only add maybe the slow speed in some browsers especially during the start of the project could make some people leave.

I am really sorry to hear that Google Wave is to be axed. It proved to be really useful for collaborative sessions on software and other topics. Much more immediate than conversing through Forums. I am sure it will have to be reinvented again soon.

While I found it interesting to use Wave with you guys here I always said to myself that this is not much different from a forum. Sure it is realtime, but that sometimes can add confusion too. How much more ways of communicating do we need. Forums, email, twitter, facebook, etc.! It is becomming to much in my oppinion.
