Is it necessary (or advisable) to un-install older releases before installing newer releases of thinBasic?
Sometimes things are left behind in other software which may interfere with new release stuff.

Hi Richard,

I would recommend to uninstall old version and then install new, when we are in beta stage.
Make sure you place your own scripts in UserScripts or out of thinBasic installation directory, to not get them accidentaly deleted.

Once the thinAir design stabilizes, it should be possible to just "update" existing installation too, to preserve thinAir settings for example. Currently, in beta, some thinAir storage settings might change.

Not only can their change, but the ini file will be deleted/overwritten during the installation.

I think during installation "\thinBasic\thinAir\thinAir.ini" file is created only if it does not exists.
I've just checked setup script and seems so.
But if you experience different behaves let me know.

In any case, yes, it is advisable to remove and do a new install of thinBasic but in general in future we will try to tend to just install new versions over old one.
The main problem is mainly related to the fact that some applications or DLL can be in use when installing thinBasic. We are trying to find a way to check this in future versions.
