I for one am sad to see this happen. iBasic standard was how I came back into programming again. Then when Aurora came out, it helped me to make the move to OOP based languages.
There is a vacuum now for a low cost or free BASIC language with easy OOP that can be compiled to an executable without .net reliance.

Yes,

mousetrap is correct. BlitzMax is very cheap and a very general purpose language. And it has a driving community. But that is more related to game projects.

Paul is selling off the assets of Ionic Wind Software.

http://www.ionicwind.com/forums/index.php/topic,3875.msg30572.html#msg30572

The site (company?) and Emergence Basic are still available for $2000.

Creative BASIC was sold to Graham Sutton for $1000 I assume if Paul was asking $3000 for everything.

Tom or Bob from PowerBASIC should have bought it just to take it off the market. IMHO
